Who We are
Dave Holwell
A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Mr. Holwell is the President
of Stellar Health Care Solutions. He has over twenty-five years of management, corporate, and development experience in both the Long
Term Care and Retirement Home sectors in Ontario.
Mr. Holwell served as Vice-President, Business Development
for a medium-sized health service organization, from 1998 to mid-2005.
During that time, he was involved in the Request for Proposal process
for the Ministry of Health allocation of 20,000 new beds. His responsibilities
included overseeing the planning, designing, and coordinating of all facets
of development for five new long term care homes. In addition, he provided
operational support, assisted with marketing and branding initiatives,
and explored new business opportunities within the organization.
From 1983 to 1998, Mr. Holwell held the position of Administrator in
a 220-bed Nursing Home and Retirement Lodge, with overall responsibility
for the day-to-day management of the Home. During his 15-year tenure,
the Home achieved successful expansion, continually high levels of Accreditation
awards, positive employee morale and low turnover, and an excellent reputation
with the Ministry of Health.
In 1997, Mr. Holwell assisted with the planning, design and conversion
of a former hospital site into Lord Dufferin Centre Seniors Residence and Medical-related suites.
In addition to his experiences listed above, Mr. Holwell has been actively
involved in the Senior Care sector over the years, having served in various
capacities for the Ontario Long Term Care Association, Ontario Retirement
Communities Association and local Health Planning agencies. He continues
to serve his community by volunteering in local organizations including Rotary and Headwaters Communities in Action.

Patricia Banks
Joining the Stellar team in 2008 as Nurse Consultant, Patricia Banks graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University with her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. She has over 13 years experience working in both Retirement Home and Long Term Care sectors in Ontario. Patricia has worked in positions as Charge nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Assistant Director of Care and Director of Care and has found her career to be a very fulfilling and rewarding one. In these positions, she actively participated in the Accreditation process as a team leader on 3 occasions and significantly contributed to successfull Accreditation Awards. In 2003, Patricia decided to extend her knowledge and understanding of Long Term Care and embarked on a Long Term Care Management Certificate course offered through the CHA, acquiring her certificate in 2005. Patricia is very dedicated and passionate about working with seniors and their families and firmly believes in always providing the best in Customer Service. She continues to improve her understanding of seniors needs within the community and she actively seeks opportunities whereby she can participate on committees aimed at improving their overall well being and maintaining independence. During her most recent 5 year tenure as Director of Care in a Long Term Care home, she worked closely with the Management Team and served as a mentor for new managers and various staff in the day to day operations, particularly in the area of staff relations. She also established positive relationships with the various Compliance Advisors and worked closely with the team in working through and resolving compliance issues. She is committed to providing quality care and service to all those she meets and willingly shares strategies in meeting the needs and overcoming the challenges in a continuously changing health care sector.
